the other day
hard to breathe
overcast but otherwise fine
and then suddenly thick

today rain rain rain
the kind that brings up earthworms
and has robins chirping

a day for sweaters and cups of tea
beading drops on leaves
more of this please

for now
more of this

chirpy chit chat

the squirrel is really letting it fly tonight
in the dogwood
on the mugo pine

apparently an urgent message of sorts
doing my best to decipher
the spaces in between
the ones lost in translation

the merry month of may

and it happens as it always seems to
every year
you wake up one day and suddenly it's here
colour pops of green everywhere
canopies in the air
dustings of pollen too
tiny sunny grains
fragilities of bodies
strength in spirit
here we are
here we all are
