Mayday Mayday Mayday

relief

the map of my back
is not to scale
despite all the scaly bits
rivulets
spine grommets
detours and ditches

the map of my back
is a work in progress
with doctors on strike
and nurses nursing the piano bar

the map of my back will be complete
in time for our next journey
to the outback and beyond
wait for it or go ahead
vertebrae know the way

ghosts

the ghosts of ghetto savages
whisper hello
a little commune communique

ethereal urgings
to turn the tide
tie tight the tourniquet

one day...

i will figure out how to drive
this bus...

this rug

is piled high with life
memory
visions of its own

Good Things
