looking back on

heat domes

thundercells

atmospheric rivers

unfurling the virtual blanket with wishes 

that wrap us all

keep us all

everyone

everywhere

warm

safe

sound

late afternoon

after a night and day

of heavy snow

soft pink light in the sky

as the sun is about to set

bird feeders swaying gently

in the breeze

now and for the next few days

a comet will be visible in the east

during the early morning hours

after a difficult year

some welcome brightness

wake up!

time to go gazing

eyes to the sky

eight legs

last night

dreams of a giant spider

not so much menacing

as persistent in pursuit

a little 'getting to know you'

kept on coming and coming

and coming

a little message in the ether:

time to get weaving

defying the odds

one kitten munches it

one kitten climbs it (and scratches the trunk)

i try not to over water it

i try not to under water it

we fertilize it

and after it had fallen/was knocked over

bound a nearly broken branch with a plaster

tending

mending

munching

our way along

somehow the hibisucs

despite us all

keeps on

keeping on
